Functional overview  

 

ABS encompass a broad range of financial activities designed to support businesses in their day-to-day financial operations, long-term planning, and compliance with regulations. These services are crucial for maintaining financial health, making informed decisions, and achieving the overall financial objectives of the organization.  The key outputs of ABS are to provide accounting services including the summarizing and reporting of financial transactions of a business, preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.  ABS is also responsible to adhere to multi-jurisdiction financial regulations and reporting requirements, including ensuring compliance with these regulations and ensure accurate and timely reporting to relevant authorities. In addition to this, ABS is to use effectively use financial software and systems to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance data security.  

 

Purpose of the role:

 

The Business Services Manager (BSM) is responsible for overseeing Accounting Services, acting as the main point of contact for escalations and ABS services within the market.  

You will work in collaboration with the Asahi Business Services (ABS) Finance Director to ensure daily operations align with agreed-upon KPIs.  

The BSM monitors financial control, governance, and efficient accounting processing, ensuring timely internal and external financial reporting.  

Additionally, you will manage audits, credit, and overall financial risk for specific market(s).  

You will lead the ABS market finance team, overseeing team performance, people management, and development. 

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee day-to-day delivery of market(s) finance services, ensuring high-quality and timely processing.
  • Provide operational leadership and guidance to the finance business services operations team for operational excellence.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs and ensure high-quality service delivery, aligning with business objectives.
  • Lead annual budget/financial forecast and take actions for market financial stability.
  • Manage company balance sheet and cash flow to achieve budget/plan, providing actionable insights.
  • Enforce accounting policies, drive efficient processes, and authorize credit limits.
  • Evaluate workflows for operational excellence, monitoring SLAs and KPIs.
  • Prepare Annual Financial Statements, manage external audits, and implement process controls.
  • Oversee workforce planning, talent development, and stay updated on industry best practices.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Education: BSc/MA degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CMA) or local equivalents is mandatory.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience managing teams/managing operations in Shared services is a must. 10+ years of finance accounting experience. Demonstrated experience in driving process improvements, change, and transformation projects.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English at a business professional level, proficiency in Hungarian is mandatory.
  • Computer Literacy: Advanced IT/Excel skills, prior SAP finance system tools such as Blackline or equivalent are advantageous.
  • Special Qualifications: Strong financial acumen, leadership and management skills, strategic thinking, excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, compliance and controls expertise.
  • Driving License: Group B.
