Functional Overview

ABS encompasses a broad range of financial activities designed to support businesses in their day-to-day financial operations, long-term planning, and compliance with regulations. These services are crucial for maintaining financial health, making informed decisions, and achieving the overall financial objectives of the organization.  The key outputs of ABS are to provide accounting services including the summarizing and reporting of financial transactions of a business, preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.  ABS is also responsible for adhering to multi-jurisdiction financial regulations and reporting requirements, including ensuring compliance with these regulations and ensuring accurate and timely reporting to relevant authorities. In addition to this, ABS is to use effectively use financial software and systems to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance data security.

 

Join our team as a Credit Specialist

Purpose of the role

The Credit Specialist will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate records of incoming payments, and monitoring outstanding balances for specific countries. 

This role collaborates with various stakeholders, including customers, sales teams, and internal departments, to resolve billing and payment issues. 

They ensure timely collection of receivables for specific countries and perform activities in line with credit policy rolled out by the market/region.

 

On a daily basis you will:

 

  • Assign and modify credit limits as per market process and generate customer invoices based on approved orders and delivery documentation. 
  • Verifying invoice accuracy, including pricing, discounts, and taxes. 
  • Coordinating with relevant stakeholders to resolve any billing discrepancies or issues.
  • Reconcile customer payments received with outstanding invoices and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Work with external credit collection agencies to effectively collect back overdue receivables. 
  • Responsible for reviewing customers on order blocks and agreeing with the market on the release of orders in line with market instructions.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of accounts receivable operations.
  • Address basic stakeholder inquiries promptly and professionally, demonstrating growing interpersonal skills and customer service.
  • Adhere to Credit service level agreements (time, process, and quality)


Requirements:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or other area
  • 2-3 years of experience in credit or order-to-cash processes in a shared service center is a must.
  • Experience working within regional teams in a matrix environment is a must.
  • English on a professional level; any other European language is an advantage.  
  • Good IT/excel skills and SAP; other finance systems such as Blackline or Concur are an advantage.
