Functional Overview 

ABS encompasses a broad range of financial activities designed to support businesses in their day-to-day financial operations, long-term planning, and compliance with regulations. These services are crucial for maintaining financial health, making informed decisions, and achieving the overall financial objectives of the organization.  The key outputs of ABS are to provide accounting services including the summarizing and reporting of financial transactions of a business, preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.  ABS is also responsible for adhering to multi-jurisdiction financial regulations and reporting requirements, including ensuring compliance with these regulations and ensuring accurate and timely reporting to relevant authorities. In addition to this, ABS is to use effectively use financial software and systems to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance data security. 

 

 

Purpose of the role

 

The Finance Systems Specialists act as vital connectors between financial operations and technological solutions within organizations. 

Their central role involves providing critical user support, ensuring the smooth functioning of financial applications, and facilitating effective communication between finance and IT departments. By bridging these essential areas, they contribute significantly to the overall efficiency and operational effectiveness of the organization.  

They provide guidance, support, and mentorship to the other team members, give support in resolving complex questions and act as subject matter expert and as an escalation point for specific issues. 

They will be working with the finance business project managers to be UAT finance testers, to ensure correct testing of all changes has been completed. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee specific financial applications (Blackline), ensuring system deployments/updates, configuration, integrations, and interfaces function effectively. 
  • Collaborate with finance teams, IT, and vendors to enhance systems and ensure alignment with shared services requirements and contribute technical expertise for seamless integration. 
  • Provide training, maintain system documentation, and assist users in effective system utilization.
  • They troubleshoot issues and escalate complex problems to IT or vendors. Their expertise ensures efficient use of financial systems across the organization. 
  • Responsible for data accuracy and integration with other systems, create/update comprehensive documentation, including user guides and process manuals. 
  • They drive continuous improvements through collaboration with cross-functional teams. 
  • Ensure finance systems comply with regulations and internal controls.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and a key user for the specific financial applications and give technical support in resolving complex questions. 

 

Requirements:

 

  • BA Degree / Equivalent Qualification in finance, accounting, information systems or a related fields. 
  • 3+ years of experience in managing systems (BLACKLINE) within a shared services environment.  
  • Language: English , other European language is an advantage.
  • Experience using financial management software Blackline, participation in the implementation of this systems is an advantage. 
  • Possess a strong understanding of database management, data analysis tools, and reporting software.
  • Should possess a robust financial background and expertise in financial systems Blackline, Reporting systems, Tax and Treasury, Data Analytics such as PowerBI. 
  • Should possess strong analytical skills, enabling them to extract, analyze, and interpret complex financial data and reports effectively.
