Join Our Dynamic Team as a Senior GL Accountant in Prague!

 

Purpose of the role:

The main purpose of a Senior GL Accountant is to oversee and manage an organization's financial records, ensuring accuracy, compliance with accounting standards and timely reporting.  

You will maintain the general ledger, record financial transactions and prepare crucial financial statements, providing essential insights for decision-making and financial analysis within the company. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process month-end accrual journals and compile supporting schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and flash reports, while coordinating with the commercial team to gather and consolidate additional financial analysis.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Generate intercompany recharge transactions, ensuring proper allocation and documentation.
  • Carry out intercompany reconciliations and confirmations to maintain consistency and accuracy across entities.
  • Manage and process fixed asset transactions, including periodic reconciliations and reporting.
  • Support the preparation and organization of month-end Internal Audit documentation and files.
  • Post Treasury Accounting journals accurately and in a timely manner to ensure proper financial reporting.
  • Actively participating in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of GL operations. 
  • Ensuring strict adherence to GL service level agreements (time, process, and quality).

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) or an equivalent local professional certification is highly desirable.
  • 5 years of experience in finance shared services or related functions.
  • Experience working within regional teams in a matrix organizational structure is a distinct advantage.
  • Fluency in English at a professional level is required, along with proficiency in the relevant market language (e.g., AEI European language) to effectively support the respective market.
  • Advanced IT/excel skills, prior SAP/HFM or equivalent is an advantage 
  • Experience in change and transformation projects, including process reengineering, technology implementations, and cultural change initiatives

ABS encompass a broad range of financial activities designed to support businesses in their day-to-day financial operations, long-term planning, and compliance with regulations. These services are crucial for maintaining financial health, making informed decisions, and achieving the overall financial objectives of the organization. The key outputs of ABS are to provide accounting services including the summarizing and reporting of financial transactions of a business, preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. ABS is also responsible to adhere to multi-jurisdiction financial regulations and reporting requirements, including ensuring compliance with these regulations and ensure accurate and timely reporting to relevant authorities. In addition to this, ABS is to use effectively use financial software and systems to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance data security.
