The brewery in Šariš in the eastern part of Slovakia is the most modern brewery in the country. Established in 1964 with the first batch of beer brewed in 1967, it is the home of the popular Šariš brand. Using the state-of-the art technology, the brewery builds on a long brewing tradition in the region, dating back to 1506.

Role overview:

Šariš brewery is hiring. Join our Slovak brewery as the Brewing manager and lead the following areas:

 

Brewing, Fermentation, Filtration and Malthouse.

 

This prestigious and unique position offers responsible and complex role for highly driven professionals who enjoy team spirit, challenges and, of course, good beer. The Brewing manager manages and controls beer and malt production processes according to valid standards, in the required quantity and at optimal costs.

In close cooperation with the Sales and Marketing, the Brewing manager has a significant impact on innovations and new successful product development.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, develop and improve the processes of the Brewing, Fermentation, Filtration and Malthouse with the aim of continuously developing and improving the performance of the departments.

  • Responsible for the quality of beer from the plant's production (CQI index, taste stability, colloidal stability, taste profile) as well as the defined control of raw materials, intermediate products of beer production and the final product.

  • Evaluate, analyze and report the results of analyzes of beer and malt production.

  • Check and systematically solve problems in line with product standards.

  • Approve deviations from production standards and inform competent employee about deviations and nonconformities.

  • Implement, maintain and develop a quality management system (according to ISO 9001).

  • Plan and adhere to the budget of variable and fixed costs of the centers, plan and implement investments in the entrusted departments in order to ensure the operation and development of the department.

  • Collaborate in the creation and implementation of the brewery's strategic plans in accordance with ASAHI's corporate strategy.

  • Promotion of the brewery in public spaces such as universities, trade association meetings, award presentations and conventions to show case the brewery products.

 

Requirements - must have:

  • University education - technical, chemical or food specialization

  • Min. 5 years’ experience in beer production, quality management (IMS, ISO, HACCP)

  • In-depth knowledge of beer and malt production technology, quality management system

  • Innovation and continual improvement capability

  • Strong problem solving skills 

  • Advanced knowledge of PC (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, internet)

  • Advanced English language

  • Excelent project management skills and methodical nature

  • Leadership and Team talent management

 

Requirements - nice to have:

 

  • Tasting certification
  • Ability to read technical documentation
  • Experience in SAP
  • Strong in internal and external communication with combination of presentation skills
  • Driver license B
