Head of Sales On Trade

Where? From our office in Amsterdam in a beautiful old building on the Amstel river and from the brewery in Enschede. Working from home is also partly possible!
With whom? With our On Trade (Horeca) sales team at Royal Grolsch.

 

As the Head of Sales Horeca ... 
... you are a strategic leader within Royal Grolsch and part of the Executive Management Team (EXCO). Your goal? You play a crucial role in defining and executing the corporate strategy and our strategic execution plans in the Horeca (Hotel, Restaurant, Café) channel. You will be responsible for the entire On Trade sales landscape and ensure the development and implementation of our sales policy. How? With your vision and leadership, you manage the On Trade sales team and ensure optimal performance, growth and innovation within this dynamic channel. In addition, you will represent our company as a credible expert within the industry and build a strong reputation in the market. You will report directly to our Managing Director and indirectly lead a team of 60+ colleagues, consisting of sales professionals and Horeca Tap Technical Service Mechanics and Technical Events Staff.

 

Your key responsibilities are:

  • Further develop and implement a data-driven On Trade Sales strategy that aligns with the business goals and strengthens our market position, within the Horeca, festival, wholesale and events channels;
  • Translating the sales strategy into concrete annual plans and ensuring flawless execution from your team. Think of close cooperation with Marketing/Insights as input for the development of the sales strategy. As a result, you ensure the correct execution of point-of-purchase executions based on customer and shopper insights;
  • Further build a high-performing sales team with strong planning, development, training and performance-driven culture;
  • Driving an agile and successful team by driving growth, being accountable for our P&L, meeting financial targets and continuously analysing and optimising performance;
  • Building strong business relationships and increasing our brand impact through collaborations with wholesalers, key accounts and media.

As Head of Sales Horeca, you are an experienced and driven leader with keen commercial insight and a passion for growth and innovation. You combine strategic thinking with hands-on sales experience and know how to position a challenger brand in the market. You have a solid track record in optimising cross-functional processes. With your energy and leadership, you manage a diverse team and ensure a future-proof sales strategy.

 

What else will we find on your resume?

  • More than 10 years of experience in Sales (preferably FMCG), including 5+ years in managing large teams. Proven track record in developing and implementing sales strategies in the Dutch market;
  • In-depth knowledge of Sales, P&L management, supply chain and sales tooling, preferably complemented by knowledge of financing issues on hospitality businesses;
  • Driven to drive a performance and value-driven culture, develop talent and inspire Sales teams. Strong in connecting strategy and execution;
  • Skilled in communicating powerfully and sensitively with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels;
  • Fluent command of the Dutch and English languages.
