Role Overview:
A Demand Planner in our company is responsible for managing the cross-functional alignment process to deliver a reliable and timely consensus forecast. This role involves thoroughly analyzing historical sales data and gathering, validating, and incorporating commercial inputs into the forecast. Additionally, the Demand Planner will proactively identify and escalate risks and opportunities through scenario planning.
Responsibilities:
Develop Accurate Demand Forecasts

Create precise demand forecasts across multiple timeframes (monthly and weekly) by analyzing historical sales data, market trends, and internal/external factors affecting product performance.

Establish a baseline forecast for future planning horizons.
Facilitate Cross-Functional Alignment

Gather and consolidate information on future commercial plans by leading regular alignment discussions with Sales, Insights, Trade Marketing, and Brand teams.

Integrate these inputs into the final consensus forecast for the S&OP process.
Risk and Opportunity Management

Identify potential risks and opportunities affecting the demand plan.

Present gap analyses and propose corrective actions to key stakeholders.
Refine and Validate Demand Plans

Continuously improve the demand planning process and methodologies.

Provide regular reports on forecast accuracy and propose solutions to improve stock predictions, inventory levels, and product availability.
Align Demand Plans with Strategic Goals

Ensure demand forecasts are aligned with the company’s long-term strategic objectives and goals for both mid and long-term planning.
Support Strategic Planning

Contribute to the strategic planning process by delivering data-driven insights and analytics on sales trends and market demand.
Collaborate with Customers

Engage with customers as part of the collaborative forecasting process when necessary.

Foster a customer-centric mindset within the organization during forecast alignment.
Bridge Communication Gaps

Identify and address facilitators and blockers across the supply chain.

Act as a mediator between commercial and operational teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers.
Analyze Out-of-Stock (OOS) Scenarios

Investigate root causes of OOS situations and forecast accuracy issues.

Implement corrective actions to optimize stock levels and minimize delivery failures.
Requirements (must have):
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Technical Skills:

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Experience with database-oriented software and demand planning tools.
Language Proficiency:

Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Experience:

3-4 years of professional experience in FMCG, specifically in Commercial or Demand Planning roles.
Supply Chain Knowledge:

Solid understanding of inventory management principles and Supply Chain processes.
